Your role as Assistant Accountant for The Country Road Group will provide important support to the daily financial operations of the business, cash management and tender reconciliation. Reporting to the Senior Financial accountant, you'll be responsible for preparing various financial records including monthly accounting entries, balance sheet reconciliations and annual and half yearly reports, preparing month and year end documents. Essential to this role is strong communication skills to work alongside internal and external stakeholders offering support on projects and program upgrades, in a fast paced retail environment. 

This role is based in our Burnley head office with hybrid/flexible working arrangements. 

What does the role involve?

• Preparation of month end accounting entries and accruals
• Assisting in the completion of month end financial close process for Country Road Group
• Assist in the preparation of Country Road Group annual statutory accounts
• Ensure compliance with our parent company’s accounting policies and International Financial Reporting Standards
• Identification and implementation of process improvements
• Ad Hoc project support

Essential Skills:

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business or related
• Experience using Oracle, exposure to Futura/Magenta POS advantageous but not essential
• Stakeholder management, strong communication skills written and verbal
• Exceptional attention to detail and eye for process improvement
• Previous experience in retail or similar industry is highly desirable
• A team player who enjoys collaborating with others
