Take responsibility for our fixed asset process, leasing, and occupancy in this fantastic Senior Financial Accountant opportunity for Country Road Group. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will work on month end and year end processes, including being a subject matter expert for accounting practices such as IFRS 16 and Fixed Assets. We are looking for an individual with demonstrated accounting experience, a positive and proactive attitude and enthusiasm to thrive in the fast-paced nature of the Retail industry.

Key Accountabilities

• Preparation and review of monthly accounting entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly reports
• Involvement with the year end statutory accounting process
• Responsible for the external audit process relating to fixed assets and occupancy
• Maintenance and ownership of the fixed asset register
• Manage leasing & occupancy accounting practices, including IFRS 16
• Preparation and delivery of budgets and forecasts and assist in the preparation of the monthly profit & loss
• Manage, support and mentor one direct report
• Identification and implementation of process improvements

Key Capabilities

• Fully CA or CPA qualified
• Ideally you will come from a Big 4 or Mid-Tier Accounting Firm background
• Experience within a Retail environment will be looked upon favourably
• Intermediate and above Excel Skills (Pivot Tables & V-Lookups)
• Experience with IFRS 16 and other leasing accounting practices will be highly regarded
• Strong communication skills to be able to deal with an array of stakeholders
